Sledding

Saturday the weather was beautiful 40 degrees which is a far cry from the -7 today.  The kids all got new sleds from Santa for Christmas and we took them out for their maiden voyage.

 

The girls had so much fun flying down the hill with Dad!

 

Hopefully we will get more mild weather to go out again soon!

This year I wanted to start something new with the kids leading up to Christmas. So I decided to wrap 24 Christmas books to open each night before bed. We don't own 24 Christmas books, so I went to our local library and reserved various books about Christmas.

Lights

We are getting back into our routine after the holidays, which always brings joy to my heart after days of chaos.

Last year I heard about a neighborhood not far from us that does lights for Christmas, so once again we packed up the kids in the car the Friday before Christmas to go see the lights. With all three kids in their pajamas with fresh popped popcorn, and blankies we headed out!

Let's Dress up for Christmas

Yesterday afternoon Liam had his first preschool Christmas program at school. The kids have been practicing for weeks and we were excited to finally get to see it play out.

Santa

 

We love our yearly Santa visit, not so sure about my kids. This year was the first year that Liam went right up to Santa and actually told him what he wants for Christmas. And for the girls there is always next year.

I can honestly say I am looking forward to the day that I am not in the picture.

O Christmas Tree

The girls love to hang out under the tree.

And P.S. Yes, my tree is only decorated half way down ;) The girls decided they like it better this way!

Ring Around....

These pictures are from a month or so ago, one of those times I uploaded and then forgot about them.
Everyone loves ring around the rosie and my kiddoes are no different.

Gingerbread house

This Christmas season I am focusing on traditions that are meaningful yet not time consuming or complicated. I always see so many people and ideas that do the elf on the self or activities for advent and I just feel that the time commitment would be far to much and I would hate to start something and not be able to finish it.

So this year for the first time we decided to decorated a gingerbread house. Liam and I had fun deciding where to put the door and windows. I did have to remind Liam that the candy isn't for us to eat but to decorate.
